You've probably gone through this yourself. Remember the times you had a crush on your teacher? All the dreams you had of him? The longing, the yearning to see him, to talk to him... perhaps even to touch him? "Pieniä Eroja" is a film about Salla - a 13-year-old girl who has a crush on her ex-teacher from the lower level of the comprehensive school, Tarsala. Starting the upper level herself, Salla dreams of Tarsala and eventually they become friends.
Too bad - they never get closer than that to each other, and personally, I think that's the only negative thing about this film. I've had a crush on my teacher and I would have done ANYTHING to get his attention - not only spiritually, but physically also.
Even so, the film is very enjoyable and the acting is fine. I must admit both the actors of Tarsala and Salla were completely new to me (probably due to the fact that I'm not a huge fan of Finnish films) but they did a great job. The film was very realistic - a lot of Salla's thoughts were just like mine at the time I fantasized of my teacher (the only exception being the fact that if my teacher would have tried to kiss me, I wouldn't have rejected it!).
I really recommend this film to everyone, especially to those of you who have gone through the passion for teachers :)
