Early attempt of joint China-Taiwan movie joint venture.

which supposed to be good, but unfortunately, the film is plagued by the common problem of typical Hong Kong and Taiwan action films:

To increase the popularity, the film hired popular movie stars as actors instead of real martial arts athletes, and as a result, the action is obviously fake and thus tarnished the good plot.

Unfortunately, China was in the early stages of reform and had not yet opened up enough for Chinese audience to know every famous Hong Kong and Taiwan movie stars, and Chinese audience was far more interested on the actual fighting actions rather than the fame of movie stars, so the obvious fake actions did not create the excitement among Chinese audience as it should had martial arts athletes were used instead of movie stars.
