This short begins with what looks like a vision test. The administrator asks again and again "which looks better--one or two?" at which point the person taking the test gives their preference. However, after initially being exactly like an eye exam, various photos of people of various ethnic groups or genders are shown and the test taker is to say which they would prefer.
This film is about prejudices and stereotypes. While the basic idea isn't bad and I applaud their efforts, the film loses points by being incredibly obvious and heavy-handed. Now I am sure to some this automatically makes me a racist, sexist pig who obviously doesn't deserve to live, but let me explain. If a film has no subtlety, it will only appeal to those who already are in agreement with the proposition in the short film--so those who appreciate the film's message are already predisposed to agree with it. However, those who are close-minded will only feel more so because the film hits you over the head like a sledgehammer and presents its message with little finesse. I think a more subtle approach is more interesting and would do a lot more in the long run. Just my 2 cents worth.
