Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki review :
B.Subhash - Mithun da jodi's follow up to their blockbuster Disco Dancer (1982); Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki had all the ingredients for a wholesome masala entertainer which later became a template for most Mithun Chakraborty hits of the 80s - Great music, terrific dance, pulsating action and a revenge plot to hoot.
Featuring in a baap- beta double role, Mithun da senior is terrorised and killed by his evil mama Amrish Puri. His wife Smita Patil gives birth to Mithun da junior and raises him rough and tough to avenge his fathers death. Thus, justifying the title - Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki.
Mithun da was in top form excelling in both action as well as dance. Bappi Lahiri's music score was perfectly suited for the situation and one song "Jeena bhi kya hai jeena" is a direct rip-off from Michael Jackson's Thriller. Even MJs outfits are copied.
In a surprise departure from her conservative Nikaah character, Salma Agha went ultra glam matching step to step with Mithun da. Her seduction song "Come Closer" is still memorable and remixed upteen times. Undoubtedly, this is Salma's best performance as actor -singer after Nikaah.
Expectedly, Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki became a huge box office success and Mithun - B Subhash completed their hat-trick of hits with Dance Dance in 1986. Mithun da fans still fondly remember this dance trilogy with B Subhash. Its my personal favorite too!!
