Sex & Nudity

  • Contains mature sexual themes.
  • Lots of sexual tension between two characters.
  • Sexual and suggestive comments and images throughout.
  • In a comic strip cutscene, a man and a woman begin to make out, moaning is heard and the woman's top rolls up partially revealing her left breast, though her nipple is covered.
  • In a cutscene, a nude woman showers in front of a man she invited over. In the standard versions of the game on PC, PS2, and Xbox, her upper buttocks are visible. However, in the PC's downloadable "WidescreenFix" aspect ratio, her buttocks and right breast are completely visible.
  • In a playable dream sequence, a sexually aroused woman is heard screaming, "Oh, give it to me!" repeatedly.
  • In a playable sequence, paintings of scantily clad men and women are seen. Breasts are visible.
  • In an apartment complex you can hear a woman moaning loudly implying sex we hear her orgasm. Nothing is shown.
  • Advertisements for a phone sex line. Max uses it for therapy in one sequence where you find his tapped phone calls. Although this is darkly comedic it is very depressing and not sexual as Max is looking for a helpful companion not sexual gratification. The ads are also not graphic either.
  • Adult advertisements are shown in a satirical manner no actual sexual content onscreen.
  • During a nightmare sequence we hear Mona moan Max's name and also sounds of sex.
  • A group of gangsters sit around a television playing porn. Moaning is heard but only non graphic still images are shown on the TV.
  • At the police station in the interrogation room a man says "the chick I just fingered got in a fight with cleaner guys"

Violence & Gore

  • The game contains lots of blood, lots of violence but not really any gore.
  • Entire rooms can be covered in blood from enemies.
  • The gunfights are really intense with blood spurting out everywhere.
  • Non-stop strong violence - A lot of blood.
  • In a cutscene, a man shoots a sitting woman in the head. Little blood spurts out.
  • In another cutscene, four people are killed by a woman. The 1st guy is shot point blank in the head. But, no blood spurts out.

Profanity

  • Worse than the first game.
  • 34 uses of fuck (5 used with the prefix mother and twice used sexually) and other words like shit, bastard, asshole. One use of cocksucker.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Max takes painkillers throughout but these are only used as a gameplay mechanic to heal the player.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A lot of scenes are very intense and shocking.
  • Just like the first game this is incredibly dark however it has a very tongue in cheek sense of humour. Some missions are pretty humourous for some much needed levity.
  • Rated R for Strong Violence, Some Disturbing Images, Language and Sexual Content.
  • The game atmosphere is very dark, from beginning to end.
  • Max's dreams are very creepy, disturbing and frightening.
