A hilarious mockumentary-turned-sitcom - and a Finnish one, too!

(The audience for this comment is very tiny but I'll go ahead anyway.)

I'm rather lucky having not watched the very first episode of "W-tyyli" when it was first shown. They reran it after I'd become a regular watcher and after they'd dropped the fake-documentary aspects, and I remember that it was a show that would've perhaps caused my missing this show from that moment on - a show which currently is the best thing on Finnish TV.

The show has now developed its own little catchphrases and situations that occur in every programme. The variations of these are always something to look forward to. The story lines can sometimes be even a bit predictable, but who's to say that's a bad thing?

The cast is, simply put, excellent. Its brightest star to me is Jaakko Saariluoma who plays the producer ("Kattöpulssit") marvellously. The rest are almost equally good.

"W-tyyli" is disliked if not ignored by the general Finnish public. I don't know whether it's that they don't "get" it or that they find the cast annoying or what, but luckily, the show is now starting to get the critical praise that is due. I hope it'll have a great, long run. It's been extraordinary so far.
