Sex & Nudity

  • A man spies on a woman in her bath. We see only the woman's bare shoulders from the front and back.
  • Townspeople are hauling a large wooden phallus that will be used in some kind of ceremony. It's symbolic but anatomically accurate enough that you can tell what it is.
  • Cleavage in a couple of posters hanging over a man's bed
  • A woman becomes pregnant by a man who is not her husband. The father suggests herbs, implying that they were to abort the pregnancy. The woman rejects the idea. The affair between the two is implied, not seen or discussed.

Violence & Gore

  • A man is poisoned. We see the poisoners adding the poison to his drink. We hear moans off-camera. We see neither the effects of the poison or the death.
  • A woman drowns. We see her garment and her face underwater, but we do not actually see her drown.

Profanity

  • S-word at least twice (in subtitles)

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A man is drunk and singing in the back of a truck. We see him drinking at least once.
  • Another man smokes several times throughout the movie. Others tell him he shouldn't and he stops.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A man rides a run-away horse he can't control.
  • Though the movie deals with infidelity and murder, we see nothing explicit. The two subjects couldn't be handled more obliquely or discretely.
