Sex & Nudity

  • Sex is the main topic, but it is not shown every episode.
  • Some episodes feature sex scenes, but most just feature people talking about it. Later on, there are a couple scenes of frontal nudity.
  • Nudity becomes more frequent as the show goes on, having nudity in almost every episode in the later seasons.
  • Several instances of nudity, specifically female breasts and rear nudity in each season.
  • Lloyd is homosexual, and Ari frequently berates him and insults him in an aggressive, but humorous way. Some may consider this to be offensive, but it's played for laughs.

Violence & Gore

  • Characters will occasionally get into scuffles with lots of punching and shoving, but these are infrequent and are mostly mild in impact. Apart from one briefly intense fistfight at the end of Season 7 that leaves Vince visibly battered.
  • A character commits suicide offscreen. No blood is shown or anything graphic, but we hear the gunshot.
  • Some staged violence is shown, within the context of Vince's films.
  • Occasional threatening situations, or non-graphic references to violence.

Profanity

  • The N-word can be heard in some lyrics.
  • Incredibly graphic language.
  • The word "cunt" is used several times throughout, but very infrequently. However, the word "cocksucker" is also used infrequently.
  • The show has a lot of profanity that is said excessively all throughout the series.
  • Frequent uses of other moderate language, such as "dick", "shit", "bitch", "ass", "asshole", and "tits". Religious profanity is also used such as "god", "goddamn", and "Jesus Christ".
  • There is discriminatory language used like "faggot".

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • The use of alcohol and marijuana is VERY frequent throughout. As such, characters also smoke cigarettes and cigars.
  • One episode involves eating mushrooms and tripping in order to find an answer to a difficult life decision Vince must make.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Occasionally heavy themes (such as death) take presence in the show and it may be depressing to some viewers. The range of such themes and content include the heavy consumption of alcohol and incessant drug use.
