Good game, okay hosting

Warning: Spoilers
Think Fast was a show that, until I got Nick GAS had never seen.(Along with Get the Picture and Finders Keepers.) Anyway it's kind of like Double Dare except there's no trivia portion to the game at all, aside from the Brain Bender. To make things balanced however, the stunts on the show were split between messy and cerebral. 2 teams of 2 kids each(Blue & Gold) compete in a "series of mind twisting, body buckling events," worth varying amounts of money. After each stunt the Brain Bender is shown and a piece is removed exposing a part of the Brain Bender. The team that won the stunt/event got a chance to solve the Brain Bender (a rebus, celebrity, etc) and if successful won $200. After a team guesses, another stunt is played no matter if the team solved the Brain Bender or not. If the stunt is the last stunt of the game, then the unexposed portions of the Brain Bender are revealed piece by piece and after the 1st unexposed piece is revealed, the winners of the final stunt guess. If right the team wins $200 and the game is over, (unless there is a tie in which case another Brain Bender is shown) if wrong another unexposed section is revealed and the other team tries to guess. Halfway through the show's run the remaining pieces were revealed like before however rather than alternating guesses, the 1st team to buzz in got a shot at solving it. Also should the Brain Bender be solved prior to the final stunt, a new one is shown after the next stunt just like if the game had ended in a tie. The team with the most money goes to the Locker Room. In the Locker Room the team tries to make 7 matches in 30 seconds. Each time a match is made, the matched lockers stay open. For the 1st half of the show's run 1 of the lockers contained the Time Bomb, which if found gave the 2nd team member additional time, however if not found within a certain amount of time, took away time from the 2nd team member. The 2nd half of the show's run had 1 locker contain the Red Herring, a creature with no match. If a team member believed they found the Red Herring, they would have to pull the Herring Handle that closed all the lockers, forcing a team member to restart from scratch. Michael Carrington was the host of the 1st half of the run and despite stumbling a few lines here and there, does an okay job of hosting, Skip Lackey, the host of the final half of the run was horrible and over excited. (however I did like the updated Locker Room and Brain Bender rules, as well as the new set.)If Marc Summers had hosted the show, Double Dare never been aired and the 2nd half rules were used for the entire run, than the show might have enjoyed a longer lifespan.

Fun game show
I used to watch this show when I was a little girl. First off, I must say that it was a fun game show. Also, I'm not sure if I've seen every episode. However, if you ask me, it was still a good show. I don't remember the theme song at all, though. Even so, it was fun to play along and watch. I always longed to be a contestant on the show. The thing I remember most is the chicken in the bonus round. I hope some network brings it back so I can play along and watch again. If that happens, I will be really happy. Before I wrap this up, I'd like to say that I'll always remember this show in my memory forever, even though I haven't seen every episode. Now, in conclusion, if some network ever brings it back, I hope that you catch it one day before it goes off the air for good.

A poor quality and low budget mess
zitty0422 December 2004
Back in the age of Double Dare, Funhouse and Finders Keepers came the disastrous Think Fast. Hosted by the creepy Michael Carrington(then later the wacky Skip Lackey), two teams competed in a number of events that would "boggle the mind as well as the bodies."The events varied from throwing eggs to memorizing facts about cheezy poems read by silly characters(like Lexy-man from the future,Hillbilly Paisly Lovebeeds,Mrs. Worry-who always worries). The the team that won an event would try to solve a puzzle. Each time an event was over,a piece of the puzzle would come off and it showed a piece of the picture puzzle. The team that solved the puzzle would go on to the LOCKER ROOM!There were a series of 20 lockers with one character each.each character had an exact equal in another locker. Once in the locker room it was up to the kids one at a time open the lockers and match every character. They had 1 minute.

The games in this gameshow were cheaply made and could easily be duplicated at home from a few dollars. Michael Carrington was the most unprepared game show host of all time.He was always messing up his lines and having to look out to the side and ask what to do.He would sometimes stop in the middle of a sentence and lose his train of thought. He had no business with a microphone. He always forgot the kids names and always seemed to creep them out. I guess he creeped them out enough that the producers replaced him with the joyous boykid Skip Lackey. He was so happy and enthusiastic to be a host of an unpopular game show. His fake excitement could not save this mess of a show. As the younger brother of Double Dare, there was no slime,no cool prizes nor a super obstacle course. They received the leftovers. Somehow it was on two seasons, but now it seems to be gone forever, thank god.
