One of the filming locations was the Bates Motel from Psycho (1960), also featuring John Gavin. This episode was written by the original Psycho author Robert Bloch.
Although this is the last episode of the series, Hitchcock's closing monologue concludes with the usual lines: "Next week we shall return with another story. Until then, goodnight." This was done for the summer reruns and syndication.
