This 1981 story--so significantly prescient in the 2020s with regards to the emergence of artificial intelligence deep-fakes--concerns an aging TV newsman being replaced by a computer-generated version of himself for the purpose of deceiving the viewing public into believing the AI version is real while the newsman himself, despite being outraged at his plight, is forced into retirement, or possibly worse.
