In 2015, producer Miguel Ángel Vázquez confirmed through PM's to the Youtube channel ''Animación Artesanal'' that the movie costed around 70 thousand dollars and it was self-funded by the director, Guillermo Rincón. Vasquez also said that the Colombian Ministry of Culture did not subsidized the film and Rincón never recovered the money spent.
For a time it was considered a lost film, at least to a partial degree. After its theatrical run, the movie was never released on home video and was sporadically broadcast on Colombian cable channels through out the 2000s. However, for years the only publicly available material of the movie was its trailer and promotional art; the content of the movie was debated on internet forums to the point that its existence was put in doubt due to the lack of surfaced footage and seemingly low quality of the work along with its strange nature, and although there were testimonies confirming TV airings on Colombia, no proof or footage was ever given. It wasn't until December 4th, 2015, when the Youtube user ''A.Ariza'' uploaded to the site a full TV recording of the film, which according to Ariza he found on his old hard drive from some 2009's Megaupload movie files he downloaded; his channel since then has been taking down due to copyright strikes. The movie quickly rose to internet infamy in Latin America and spawned many memes, Youtube Poops and reviews from internet personalities.
