My Pet Monster should be put down, but I have too much nostalgia for it

I used to watch this corny mess a lot as a kid. I didn't realize how much, though, until I watched it as an adult and realized I could still quote lines word-for-word. My Pet Monster was quickly and cheaply made to capitalize on a popular toy, and it shows, and yet the nostalgia in me is so strong that I can't hate the awful special effects and nonsensical plot. If you liked this movie as a kid, you may still like it now. If you didn't see it as a child, you'll probably want to skip My Pet Monster.

The children's play thing that you could buy at Toys r Us for like $15, is a better special effect, then this animatronic chuckie cheese nightmare!?!?!

I saw this movie once and I thought is was good, but I just recently saw this movie and WOW now I know how bad this is.

The biggest problem I have is that it's about a boy who becomes a monster. That's a problem because it's called My Pet Monster, NOT A boy who became a monster. On top of that, it suffers from lazy writing, lazy directing, lazy animatronics and lazy editing.

Also, the movie has a very VERY creepy ending that ends on a cliffhanger, with no spin off show or a sequel, so long story short, its like the director is basically telling us that you have wasted an hour on a really bad movie.

All an all, the movie is bad, but not the worst thing i've seen.

Warning: Spoilers
I saw this movie when I was three years old and it scarred me for life.

I don't remember much about it except that this poor kid gets turned into a monster for eating an apple in a museum.

I also remember there being little animated sequences in between regular scenes.

This movie really messed with my mind. I was afraid of statues for years.

I was so afraid of statues and inanimate objects becoming animate, that I had to turn my stuffed toys around at night before going to sleep so they couldn't "see" me.

Seriously, don't show this to a little kid unless you want them to grow up to be neurotic and weird.
