Dreadful
el_ucca24 January 2005
Old Uuno Turhapuro movies are legendary and the last good Uuno-film was Tupla-Uuno, made in 1988. All Uuno-films after that have sucked more and more.

The best parts of this movie consist of film clips from old Uuno Turhapuro movies. All new material in this film consist of terrible acting and jokes so unfunny you just want to cry and ask God why does he allow this this crap to happen.

I'm so glad this was the last Uuno-film made.

As horrible as the others! You better go to sleep!

Warning: Spoilers
I still can't understand what people see in these Uuno Turhapuro's films... I have seen a few of them, including the last one, and it was as horrible as the others or even worst. In this film you'll see the same things than you saw before: I dirty guy dressed with his clothes in rugs talking and acting really like a stupid. I don't know how the persons who made this film could spend their time and money in this boring "comedy" (as they actually say this film is), and which a lot of persons of this country really hate. If you don't have nothing else to do than watching this film I would suggest you better go to sleep! I wonder what did the persons who gave money to make possible the production of this film think once they saw what was the final result of their investment. I am sure that many of them tried to get their money back as I would do myself if I would be in their position.

End of an era
tonywerner2 December 2004
This is it: The final adventure of Uuno Turhapuro - the most successful Finnish movie character of all times. In the 80's Uuno Turhapuro break the Finnish box office records in the way no movie can ever gain more viewers. The director Ere Kokkonen has told that this is the last movie about Uuno Turhapuro and it was only made to the honor of late Spede Pasanen - who's creation Uuno originally is.

Vesa-Matti Loiri is multi-talented Finnish artist. He's an actor who can play almost anything - from serious drama to hilarious crazy comedy like Uuno Turhapuro movies. Now at age of 60 he portrayed old Uuno remembering the life he has lived. He takes part in the reality-TV-show "This is my life" and tell his life story to all the TV-viewers. In between there has been cut many clips from past Uuno movies from over 30 years of time. Behind the comedy there's sadness, which makes this Uuno movie one of the best. The genuine touching moment is the part where Uuno is remembering his deceived friend Härski Hartikainen (Spede Pasanen) who died little earlier in real life too.

Normally Uuno Turhapuro movies are a collection of scenes from his unusual life, but this one works as a movie with a real plot also. In between the remembering scenes in the TV-studio Uuno tries to solute himself in the home of rich elderly people in hope of good food and beautiful, young nurses. It also nice to see this legendary group of actors once more in their most memorable roles. One era of Finnish movie business has ended with Uuno Turhapuro Saga - but it is not forgotten.

Because of the long history of Uuno Turhapuro: 8/10

The last coming of Uuno Turhapuro
Petey-105 June 2007
The year 2004 brought us one more time this character we know as Uuno Turhapuro.Spede Pasanen created it in the early 70's and Vesa-Matti Loiri made it famous. There were nineteen Uuno movies in total, if we don't count the unofficial Uuno Turhapuron veli (1994) with Esko Salminen in the lead.Everybody thought the tale of Uuno was finished after Spede Pasanen passed away in 2001.But they decided to make one more to honor Spede's memory. This is what they came up with.Uuno Turhapuro-This Is My Life shows us a little aged Turhapuro. He even goes to old people's home, but only for the free food. His friend Sörsselsön (Simo Salminen) works as a janitor there and he assigns Uuno to a contest called This Is My Life hosted by Merja Larivaara. In that show you have to tell about your life, naturally. The viewers get to vote who can continue in the show. That program gives an excuse to show clips from old Turhapuro movies.Ere Kokkonen is the director of the final Turhapuro movie.Vesa-Matti Loiri is still great as the main character, after more than thirty years. He also does a couple of others his well known characters, Nasse-setä and Jean-Pierre Kusela.Marjatta Raita is known as the wife of Uuno, Elisabeth Turhapuro. She's still brilliant. The fantastic Tapio Hämäläinen is always fantastic as her father, his father-in law Vuoristoneuvos Tuura.Every time he opens his mouth something hilarious comes out.And the wonderful Marita Nordberg as his wife is just wonderful.Elli Castren is Unelma Säleikkö and she still has the magic touch for Uuno.Simo Salminen does the part of Insinööri Sörsselssön and he does it good.As he has always done.Hannele Lauri is good as Vanhainkodin johtajatar. There are some other legendary people as the residents of the old people's home.Helge Herala is there as Opettaja Happonen. It's always great to see him for he always does a good job.Pentti Siimes is awfully funny as the forgetful Eversti.Heikki Kinnunen as ex-pankkiiri, Kristiina Elstelä as Elviira are very good.Anja Pohjola is very nice as Anni.Jope Ruonansuu does the part of Imitaattori and it's always good to see his impersonations.Spede Pasanen as Härski Hartikainen is seen only in archive footages. And so are Olavi Ahonen, Juhani Kumpulainen, Yrjö Parjanne, Marja Korhonen and Jyrki Kovaleff.Titta Jokinen is seen in archive footage and playing a character in this movie.A couple of other fine actors have passed away after this movie.Ville-Veikko Salminen, who was seen in some of these movies plays the actor. And he sure was a fine actor.More recently we lost Tarja-Tuulikki Tarsala. She plays the part of Enni.We can see some great, some not so great visitors in this movie. Those politicians seen there are more or less pointless, but I can mention Danny, Aarre Elo, Arvi Lind, Eero Melasniemi, Arto Nyberg, Aira Samulin and Jukka Virtanen.Teija Sopanen returns once more to her old job as TV-kuuluttaja.I saw this movie chopped in five parts a few months ago.It gave me a few moments of laughter.Uuno Turhapuro is such a fantastic character with his untidy face and string vest.In this last movie comedy meets tragedy more than in the previous ones. The times have changed, people have died but Uuno still remains.Thank you for all these years, senor Turhapuro. All we have now are the reruns.
