Sex & Nudity

  • The show often includes very sensual and sometimes sexual sequences. Many of these scenes take place between Baltar and Six.
  • A graphic rape scene
  • It is very heavily implied that a prisoner was raped and abused many times and is discussed by several characters
  • Multiple sex scenes in the first season
  • When cylons die, they are resurected in a new body. When depicted, resurected human-form cylons emerge nude from a bath-like pod filled with goop. Nothing explicit is ever shown but the nudity is unambiguous.
  • Sometimes human-form cylons are depicted as just being casually nude on their ships. Nothing explicit is shown, with camera angles, shadows, and placement of limbs hiding parts of the body some people may find objectionable.
  • Includes some suggestive sexual content.
  • The great majority of episodes have some sort of sexuality, ranging from heavy kissing to writhing and moaning, but no nudity.

  • During a surgery someones intestines and organs are pulled out
  • There is a graphic rape scene in the second season

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The main antagonists for the entire series are robots (called Cylons). These robots can be frightening and violent, though they don't look as scary as those from the Terminator movies.
  • In S4 E11 ("Sometimes a Great Notion"), there is a very intense suicide committed by a recurring character. The sequences prior are very misleading, thus making the act very unexpected.
  • In S1 E13 ("Kobol's Last Gleaming"), a Cylon "skinjob" shoots a main character twice in the stomach. This is very unexpected and can be very frightening for younger viewers.
  • A humanoid cylon is graphically sexually assaulted.
