Too full of self-congratulation and too little inside info.

I like special features on DVDs. Often, they give wonderful insight into the films--with tons of behind the scenes information and tips about the creative process. However, sometimes these featurettes seem less about insights and more like a giant publicity stunt organized by the studio's PR men. This is the case with "Jackie Brown: How it Went Down". Instead of shedding light on the film making process, it consisted much more on people congratulating each other and saying how wonderful it all was. Now "Jackie Brown" was a wonderful film--but constantly stating it like they did in this short seemed like self-serving pablum. I really didn't care that they all liked each other and that they film was swell--I wanted to learn more about the evolution of the film, characters and difficulties encountered when making the film. SOME of this is in the featurette, but not enough--and "Jackie Brown" deserves better from a making of film.
