It packs a moving and enjoyable musical score with catching leitmotif by Manuel Asins Arbó . As well as atmospheric cinematography by Federico Larraya and Francisco Sempere , shot in various Spanish locations and especially in Madrid . Made by TVE in budget enough , in fact some battles are spectacularly reenacted by hundreds of extras .The series was uneven but professionally directed by Ricardo Blasco.
