I'm really at a loss here as to why people would give this movie a one or two other than for the possibility that you are disgruntled die hard Steven King hardcover readers... or maybe you detest Johnny Depp because he resides in France.
I didn't read the book so there was nothing to spoil the story's twists and turns for me. The split personality of the killer is a typical plot altho, applying it to a novelist is kinda a self portrayal for King. Possibly considering a secret window into his mind? I thought as far as King novels transfered to film, this flick didn't stink up the place nearly half as bad as Pet Cemetery. It kept me on the edge and guessing for quite some time. The scenery was gorgeous too, nice filming location choices.
