Hitchcock's Early Years
gavin694210 February 2015
This short documentary looks at Hitchcock's early years and interviews some impressive people, including the great Roy Ward Baker. Although much has been written about Hitch, getting these guys down on the record is a worthwhile venture. Fewer and fewer of his contemporaries remain.

What is striking about Hitchcock is his place in the different genres of film. He dabbled in horror, he dabbled in spy thrillers. His constant undercurrent was crime, from a basic murder ("Rope", "Rear Window") to the international espionage story. But despite making crime thrillers in the 1940s, Hitch never really got to be known for film noir, which would seem to fit him well.
