Great effort for a first film
For a first film, "The Mind's Eye" was very impressive. However, I happened to be one of the few to read the script before the final edit of the film was presented. As a result, I think that a lot of great scenes and character development was cut out of the film. It seems that a lot of screen time was spent on the Sandra character (curly blonde hair) and she wasn't the most important character in the story. I really wanted to know more about the mother daughter relationship and I definitely wanted to see more character development and relationship development between the Julia and Derrick character. Once you see the film, you'll understand more of what i'm saying. Maybe better editing choices could have been made. All in all, I was very impressed. There's some great shots in the film and I really think that Director Rick Owens has great potential as a film maker,I just hope that for future films, he doesn't sacrifice story and character development for a "pretty face."
