Variety breaks down the 78th annual Golden Globes Awards TV nominations by category.
Drama Series
Three out of five nominees come from Netflix this year: “The Crown,” which is seeing its fourth nomination for its fourth season; “Ozark,” which picked up its first-ever series nom for its penultimate season; and newcomer “Ratched.” The other two series in the running are Disney Plus’ “The Mandalorian” and HBO’s “Lovecraft Country,” which are new to the Globes. Although “The Crown” has real heat for a season that refreshed itself with the entrances of Princess Diana (Emma Corrin) and Margaret Thatcher (Gillian Anderson), it has been celebrated so many times previously (winning in 2017) that focus should be on the freshmen.
Musical or Comedy Series

We’ve got questions, and you’ve (maybe) got answers! With another week of TV gone by, we’re lobbing queries left and right about shows including The Mandalorian, Big Sky, Seal Team and Grey’s Anatomy!
1 | Is the biggest Mandalorian question now: Did producers leak Baby Yoda’s real name to toy manufacturers in time for the Christmas rush? (Speaking of which, safe to say that this [Episode 6 spoiler!] will be a new Funko Pop?) And as great as Ahsoka Tano’s introduction was, was it a bit of a cop-out that she can’t train Grogu? Why would whatever Jedi the...

By our count, 2020 has given us one, and only one, thing to look back on fondly, and that’s great television.
Even amid the chaos of this calendar year, TV has once again delivered high-quality gems… and even some low-quality gems that offered the mindless distractions we craved. But as our Year in Review gets underway, we’re turning our attention first to the very best drama series of 2020.

The following story contains major spoilers from the series finale of The Undoing — proceed at your own peril
The Undoing‘s Hugh Grant readily admits that Jonathan Fraser is probably the most despicable character he has ever played in his four-decade career — and that’s not even accounting for the stuff that was left on the cutting room floor. Below, the former rom-com poster boy reveals to TVLine the heinous moment in the HBO thriller’s series finale that viewers didn’t see, and also sheds light on the behind-the-scenes debate over the climactic car/bridge sequence as well as...

The Undoing has been slowly unraveling each twist in its season-long murder mystery over the past five weeks, with shocking reveals and red herrings galore. But heading into this Sunday’s finale (HBO, 9/8c), we still don’t have the answer to our most pressing question: Who killed Elena Alves?
Like any good mystery, The Undoing has kept us guessing about the killer’s identity every step of the way. (In fact, we’ve even changed our minds a few times mid-episode.) And when we scan down the cast of characters, just about all of them could be the killer,...

The Undoing‘s penultimate installment picks up the day after Jonathan’s live TV tête-à-tête with Connie Chung, which ended (for us, at least) with the accused murderer revealing to the retired broadcaster that he believes he knows who really killed Elena.
Oddly, the episode fails to fill us in on what, if anything, he told Chung next about the would-be suspect’s identity, although it’s clear Jonathan is growing suspicious of his wife Grace (who, as was previously established, was caught on a surveillance camera sauntering past the crime scene).

Nobody loves Nicole Kidman quite like the Hollywood Foreign Press Association: she has received a staggering 14 Golden Globe nominations over the last three decades. With Kidman’s latest HBO series, “The Undoing,” which bowed October 26 to good numbers, it seems a foregone conclusion that Kidman will once again see herself in contention.
SEENo lie, Nicole Kidman (‘The Undoing’) could snag another Golden Globe thanks to David E. Kelley
Early Globe victories for Kidman came for lead performances in the films “To Die For” (1995), “Moulin Rouge!” (2001) and “The Hours” (2002), the last of which also brought the Australian her first Best Actress Oscar. Kidman’s career rose to yet another level years later when she starred in the 2017 HBO miniseries “Big Little Lies.” Her performance as abused wife Celeste Knight aroused feminist passions during the #MeToo era, and she easily won not only the Globe for Best TV Movie/Limited Series Actress...

It looks like The Undoing Season 1 Episode 3 is attempting to throw our scent off of Jonathan Fraser and onto his wife.
But it's not going to be that easy, no matter how determined the hapless detectives seem to put Grace in the spotlight.
Grace's mind is all over the place, rightly so, but I don't for a minute think she had anything to do with Elena's murder. What is interesting, though, is how The Undoing shines a light on how easy it is to become a suspect through no fault of your own.
"Do No Harm" picked up pretty much right where The Undoing Season 1 Episode 2 ended: with Grace on the phone with emergency services, turning in her husband and claiming to be terrified.
Grace should be terrified of her husband. He's not letting up on his claim of innocence, nor should he under the circumstances. But if Grace...

Picking up in the immediate aftermath of Grace’s tearful 911 call, The Undoing‘s third episode opened with Jonathan’s handcuffed ass getting hauled back to Manhattan in an NYPD helicopter because not even philandering, possibly-murdering husbands should be made to endure the Belt Parkway during rush hour.
Detective Mendoza stays behind to do what he does best —torture/interrogate Grace even though it’s obvious to anyone with halfway decent vision that she was not aiding and abetting her husband. He also drops some more bad news on her lap: a DNA test has confirmed that Jonathan is the...
