According to cast member Gustav Deak, a director had been hired by the producers, but had produced unsatisfactory results. He was not a member of the Communist party, as were the rest of the production team. His name was not remembered by Deak or anyone else. There may have actually been three directors.
The Prologue of this film is one of the 50 films in the 3-disk boxed DVD set called "More Treasures from American Film Archives, 1894-1931" (2004), compiled by the National Film Preservation Foundation from 5 American film archives. It is preserved by the Library of Congress, has a running time of 18 minutes and an added piano music score.
