The film, despite being a horror film, was heavily influenced by Steven Spielberg's ET.
The film was named after a sarcastic remark directed towards Marc Tresenrider during filming. The original title up to that point was "All My Dead Friends".
The film was purposely shot to mimic the look of a late-'70s early-'80s horror picture. Grain was added in post as well as a great deal of color manipulation to mimic an older film stock, primarily 16mm.
The movie was meant to be shot in seven days. It took six months for shooting to wrap.
Everything machine wise involved in the production, broke at one point or another.
