The opening scenes are interesting

The moonlight scene at the close of this picture is quite notable in its conception and for the manner in which it is pictured. The Mexican girl, rather than see the man she loves slain, plunges under the knife in the hands of her jealous lover. The opening scenes are interesting and there is a good photography throughout. - The Moving Picture World, March 8, 1913
