This program was filmed in Santa Ynez Ca. by RIDICULOUS Pictures and is distributed by the BBC in GB and 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment in the US.

I have known Monty Roberts since 1980 and, over time, have seen him first hand tame more than 100 wild horses with kind "communication" between Man and Beast and put a rider on their back for the very first time within 20 minutes without any sort of abuse. It is truly amazing and very real. I have never seen Monty EVER mistreat any horse.

Monty Roberts has critics as does every public figure. There are one thousand positive comments about Monty to every negative one, including official ceremonial accolades from Her Majesty, The Queen of England and nods from the American President Clinton and both Presidents' Bush.

After knowing him professionally for more than 27 years, in my unprejudiced view Monty Roberts is a fair, honest man who loves Horses, a true Horse Whisperer.

A must see movie for any person who loves horses.

This documentary did not only touched my heart, but also changed my mind forever. There is an old saying. What you see is changed by what you know, and what you know is changed by what you see. Sometimes a person needs someone to light a candle to enable him or her to see in the dark. I never understood horses at all. It took six of us more than an hour to catch one horse before we could saddle him. I thought by myself, there must be a better way. From there the desire to understand these magnificent animals better. I didn't know where to look for, or where to start. After a long search I saw this movie: "Monty Roberts: A Real Horse Whisperer." Monty lit the candle for me and many others. I thank God for that and the fact that we got on a path to understand and communicate better with horses. What these lovely animals had to go through in the past, just because we never really understood them or could decode their language, ask for an apology. Thank you Monty for having the courage to light the candle. It wasn't easy to light the match. ... And... Yes. We don't need six people and an hour to catch a horse anymore. Now the horse catches us. Thank you Monty. You already made the world a better place for people and for horses.

Life-changing for horsemen
drdeballen17 December 2016
I saw this documentary in the late 1990's as a special on PBS. I would have purchased it then and there if I could have afforded to. His approach is life- changing for horsemen. I've been privileged to see how his approach has changed horse training for the better in the last two decades. I got the chance to meet and speak to Mr. Roberts at a seminar in Springfield, MO in the 90's. He was still teaching the same, simple, profoundly eye-opening gentling techniques as he introduced in this documentary.

What I have learned from him by watching this film and reading his books has made me a much more effective horse and people trainer. What he taught me that day in Springfield, MO, changed a horse that was so terrified of trailering that she would shake the entire truck and trailer going down the road into a mare who would calmly load by pointing a finger.

I highly recommend this film to anyone who wants to be a better horseman, to anyone who enjoys a feel-good show, or to the lover of natural scenery. This film covers it all
