Veteran sports broadcaster Al Michaels jokingly compared New York Giants wide receivers to Harvey Weinstein’s very bad week on “Sunday Night Football” — and apologized on-air within the hour. “Sorry I made a reference earlier,” the NFL primetime play-by-play man began his mea culpa. “I tried to be a little flip about somebody obviously very much in the news all over the country. It was not meant in that manner. So my apologies, and we will just leave it at that.” Partner Cris Collinsworth echoed Al’s “leave it at that” sentiment, and so they did. Justin Timberlake has been the biggest Saturday Night Live ratings draw of the last decade. Jimmy Fallon is one of the most popular SNL alums whose frequent collaborations with Timberlake have created a slew of viral hits. It’s no surprise the teaming of the two last night brought SNL ratings gold. The Christmas edition hosted by Fallon and featuring musical guest (and sketch performer) Timberlake averaged a 6.3 household rating in Nielsen’s 56 metered markets and a 3.9/18 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with Local People Meters. ‘SNL’ Leans On Jimmy Fallon & Justin Timberlake For Yuletide Yuks: Video Those were SNL‘s highest ratings in both categories in nearly two years, since the Jan. 7. 2012 edition hosted by Charles Barkley with musical guest Kelly Clarkson (7.0, 4.1 in 18-49), which was buoyed by a big NFL primetime overrun. Taking football out of the equation, the Fallon-Timberlake show delivered the top SNL ratings in two and a half years,...

Fast National ratings for Sunday, October 20, 2013. The drama of Peyton Manning facing off against his old team, plus a high-scoring and action-packed game, gave NBC the best Sunday numbers for any network since the Oscars in February and the best NFL primetime October numbers since 1998. As you would guess, NBC won Sunday in all measures. CBS was second thanks to its own scheduled 30 minutes of NFL overrun, plus an additional 14 minutes of overrun in a number of major markets. Meanwhile, while "Once Upon a Time" and "Revenge" were both low, ABC's "Betrayal"...
