Sex & Nudity

  • Rape and teenage pregnancy are issues highlighted in the series.
  • Flirtatious encounters between characters - adults and teenagers alike.
  • Some mild references

Violence & Gore

  • Girl gets shot
  • Occasional and mild fights e.g. school scraps which result in a few bruises and possibly a slightly bleeding lip.

Profanity

  • Very mild language (crap, damn etc). Sh*t is used very infrequently. F*ck can very rarely be heard in songs. The slurs sp*z and r*tard are used rarely in season 3.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Teen boy gets addicted to cannabis. He trips multiple times which leads to him having schizophrenia.
  • Teacher gets addicted to tranquillisers and sedatives.
  • Some alcohol use, occasionally by teenagers.
  • Some episodes revolve around dealing weed but you don't see it being used, just some weed in a bag.
  • A few characters are occasionally seen smoking cigarettes.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Several characters die in the series, including through murder, suicide and illness.
  • Many emotional scenes
  • Character dies from cancer. Scenes leading up to it is upsetting.
  • There is one scene where a character sets a den on fire whilst somebody else is in there

Sex & Nudity

  • In Season 9, Episode 3: Mrs. Windsor is seen in a form fitting skirt and heels. Kevin flirts with Mrs. Windsor in her kitchen while the rest of the boys are taking junk out of the house. While they are alone he walks towards her and puts his hand on her waist and pulls her towards him and kisses her which surprises her. He kisses her a few times before he is interrupted by Connor.

Violence & Gore

  • Tom is beaten up in Season 6 and his injuries are visible. The aftermath is also very upsetting and he is diagnosed with PTSD after pushing a student violently to the ground during a fight

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Tom dies due to protecting a student from suicide in Season 8. Very very upsetting.
  • Teen boy gets addicted to cannabis and develops schizophrenia. Season 7, Episode 27, he has a schizophrenic meltdown after not taking his pills and he has to be escorted to hospital.
