Texas Chainsaw 3D hits theatres this Friday, opening the first weekend of the year by rebooting one of the longest-running franchises in horror, dating back to the original 1974 cult classic.
All we’ve seen so far from the film has been promising plenty of blood, guts, and all-around horror when it lands, most recently with the latest trailer surfacing back in November. And with just days to go before its release, Lionsgate have released another great thirty-second TV spot to get us all in the mood.
“Lionsgate’s Texas Chainsaw 3D continues the legendary story of the homicidal Sawyer family, picking up where Tobe Hooper’s 1974 horror classic left off in Newt, Texas, where for decades people went missing without a trace. The townspeople long suspected the Sawyer family, owners of a local barbeque pit, were somehow responsible. Their suspicions were finally confirmed one hot summer day when a young...

Texas Chainsaw 3D will be opening in the Us on the first weekend of the New Year, and from what we’ve seen so far, it’s going to be a brilliant horror to kick off the first weekend of the year.
The first trailer landed back in September, and with its release now really just a matter of weeks away, Lionsgate have released a new sixty-second trailer, along with the first TV spot.

Texas Chainsaw 3D will be returning us to the massacre of the cult-classic horror once more in the New Year, and after a great first trailer back in September, we’ve got plenty to be excited about.
Leatherface will be back terrorising another group of unsuspecting youngsters, and that’s definitely something to look forward to.
We saw the Us motion poster land earlier in the week, in time for Halloween, and now we’ve had the UK quad variant sent our way, with our beloved killer once more taking centre stage.

Leatherface will soon be back and terrorising us once more, with Texas Chainsaw 3D set to bring an awesome new massacre to the big screen in the New Year.
We caught the great first trailer last month, followed by a vintage new poster for the film’s appearance at Nycc a few weeks back, and now Yahoo Movies have debuted a great motion poster, with Leatherface himself front and centre.

Director Marcus Nispel is heading back into horror films. Nispel has signed on for a $10 million budget film “Backmask,” which will begin production this summer, according to Deadline. Kirsten Elms (Banshee) has written the script, which involves “paranoia, possession and the paranormal.” On Bloody Disgusting’s Web site, it published the synopsis as: During a sex, drugs, and rock-fueled party, six small-town teenagers find an old vintage record and decide to play it backwards in order to listen for any subliminal/satanic messages. Lo and behold, a seemingly malevolent spirit quickly infiltrates the group, wreaking havoc as it moves from one body to another. Eventually, however, it’s revealed that the spirit in question is actually trying to convey a message…and that the real source of horror isn’t particularly paranormal, but rather something (or someone) much closer to home.” Nispel has directed a few horror films including “Friday the 13th...

Update: With a director has come a new writer. Kirsten Elms, who wrote a TV movie called Banshee in 2006, along with the thriller Hair of the Dog, currently in development for F Gary Gray, has been brought in to "retool the script under the supervision of Luessenhop". News that she's bringing back Chop Top has been made up by us....It's eighteen months since Twisted Pictures caught the Texas Chainsaw Massacre rights after Platinum Dunes dropped them. Since then the saw has been quietly idling, with rumblings of progress here and there, but Leatherface 3D has just revved fully into action with the announcement of its potential director, John Luessenhop. There's still a suggestion in that old 3D/threequel-type moniker that this is a follow up to Marcus Nispel's 2003 remake and Jonathan Liebesman's 2006 prequel, but most indications seem to be that this is another scratch-starting reboot. Previous reports...

Earlier this week, we told you that John Luessenhop was in talks to helm the latest in the Texas Chainsaw franchise, Leatherface 3D. We've got some word on writers for the project; take a peek after the break. Drafts of the script have been turned in by actress-turned-writer Debra Sullivan and Adam Marcus (Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday); writer Stephen Susco (The Grudge) had also been attached to the film. Now Bloody-Disgusting.com is reporting that Banshee scribe Kirsten Elms is "re-tooling the script, under the supervision of Luessenhop." The only detail about the story so far is that is opens where Tobe Hooper's original ended, then flashes forward to present...

Last we reported, F. Gary Gray was off the Kane & Lynch graphic novel adaptation, which Bruce Willis and Jame Foxx are attached to star in.
Today, the director is said be attached to helm something called Hair of the Dog.
It’s described as a thriller about a successful executive, and family man, who finds himself the victim of a potentially destructive “vicious blackmail scheme,” who eventually learns that he’s just a pawn in a much more complex, mysterious agenda.
The screenplay is being written by Kirsten Elms, a relative industry newcomer, who’s only previous credits include a 2006 made-for-tv crime/drama called Banshee, and a 2010 action/thriller titled Mange.
No production start or release dates given.
