Sally's words, "Just because I'm a nobody doesn't mean I'm not somebody" become a mantra in the community of Rutherford. When she's on a local television talk show, a caller misquotes her (slightly), saying, "Just because you're a nobody doesn't mean you're not a somebody." Later, as her fame fades, she plays for herself a recording of that call, in which the caller now says "Just because you're nobody doesn't mean you're not somebody."
A caller to the TV show says that Sally, not Mark Hamill, should be in the next Star Trek movie, when he should've said Star Wars. Although, that might've been part of the joke.
