Another mystery.
mm-3911 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Well Holly is not what she seems!?! There is much Airwolf action at the beginning. aka Airwolf hits chopper assault still and rescues Holly. Then we have another mystery. Santini has many problems on the set, and there is a new female crew member who almost dies. Hawk finds Holly a little too much. Is it the mob or Holly causing the problems? A decent episode. Not the best or the worst. 5 stars.

4th Episode I've seen
sambase-387736 May 2023
This is the 4th episode of Airwolf that I have seen. I enjoyed the first 3 more than this one. I'm still trying to get a feel for the series, find out what it's about and what it's not about. So I don't know if an episode like this is typical. But I would guess that it's not typical for the series. I'll find out as I watch more episodes. I have season 2 on DVD which I just bought. I never saw season 1.

Somebody is making a movie or something. There's a female helicopter pilot. Two of them actually. Somebody is trying to sabotage things. I found it kind of confusing.

I kept wanting more action in this episode. It kind of felt like a "chick flick" to me throughout most of the episode. Lots of women talking about their feelings, etc. That's okay but not what I look for in an action show.

So I'm giving this one a 5. It's watchable, but not really what I was looking for when I bought the Airwolf DVD. Hopefully the next episode will be more exciting.

The Truth About Holly
Prismark1030 July 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Holly Mathews is Santini's niece and she has fallen in with an abusive older wealthy boyfriend in Mexico.

Hawke and Santini rescue her, but it seems trouble follows them. Santini's helicopter explodes, Holly gets a present, it's a tarantula in a box.

Meanwhile Caitlin O'Shaughnessy also reappears wanting a job. She and Hawke do a movie stunt together. The closeness between Hawke and Caitlin seems to cause issues with Holly, whose ex boyfriend is in America searching for her.

There are clues here that Holly is behaving oddly such as the way she opened the gift box. Her ex boyfriend might be a heel but he is not interested in wanting her back.

Another episode that looks at the social issue of mental illness. Holly being Santini's niece gives it a personal edge. Although Holly is someone is who is rather psychotic and obsessed with Hawke.

It is clear that the second series wants to shake up the formula a little, but it is moving away from why people liked the show in the first place.

Airwolf - The Truth About Holly
Scarecrow-888 August 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Hawke and Santini are working on a movie when Caitlin arrives (agreeing to work cheap, cracking wise with them, quite the hell of a pilot), looking for work after quitting her law enforcement aerial job in Texas, locating them specifically. This comes after a covert recovery operation in Mexico when Hawke secures Santini's niece, Holly (Barbara Howard; Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter) from a kinpin named Aarons. Aarons (Rick Jason), not much of a real menace (certainly no Moffett), just wants an "account book" she stole, warning Hawke and Santini that Holly is a bit troubled, particularly when it comes to men she obsesses about! The plot is a mess and there was a lot of obvious post-production tinkering and dubbing involved. The "Santini's niece is a psychotic, hanger-on, love-obsessive, delusional, calculating nutjob" developments just seem odd for this show, especially after such a cold war first season where terrorists and such were the norm. No offense to Howard, but she's not exactly multi-faceted, not seemingly capable of offering the layered performance her suspect character deserves, and Jean Bruce Scott's Texan accent for Caitlin is still a bit noticeably laid on thick. Still Caitlin and String share a lengthy kiss during a movie scene which catches Holly's ire, setting in motion the ridiculous conclusion where a gun is pulled and a helicopter is warned by the military to not enter restricted air space. Missiles target a Santini helicopter taken by Caitlin at the request of Holly, wanting to say goodbye to String, and the Airwolf will have to come to their rescue. Holly is jealous of Caitlin, after the kiss with String, and Holly's own attempt to seduce String (that goes awry, when String rejects her advances when staying at his cabin, after Santini considers her in danger as Aarons could be threatening her) that doesn't go according to her plan, just fuels her psychopathy. So Caitlin will have to avoid a bullet from Holly's gun held on her and missiles targeting her thanks to not being able to leave the aforementioned restricted air space. Helicopter sabotage nearly kills both Caitlin and Santini, a spider in a package arrives to Holly, Aarons orchestrates a meet-up with Santini and String just to explain how wacky Holly is, Santini and Caitlin argue about her working for him while String attends the funeral of the dirt bike buddy who was murdered in Poke County in a previous episode (brought to String by Caitlin), and the movie director celebrates a gnarly shot as Caitlin has to improvise a landing when a screw comes loose. Holly will be taken away by a doctor to get some help, admitting while in the helicopter with Caitlin that she has been through a lot of relationships with men...this confirmed by Aarons when explaining how he wasn't holding her against her will but copped to Holly overstaying her welcome. Quite simply: this just isn't prime Airwolf. It is anything but. But Borgnine and Scott really seem to enjoy each other's company, playfully bickering while Vincent is heavily dubbed over. Even the Airwolf aerial scenes lack real oomph due to the plot's lack of any serious threat. The lighthearted tone might appeal to those who weren't a fan of the darker stories in the first season. With so much emphasis on Santini's company and stunts for the movie, losing that real serious danger that often presents itself, this episode I consider one of the worst of the series.
