- Archangel warns String about a zealous government bureaucrat named D.G. Bogard who will stop at nothing until he finds Airwolf. Dom and Hawke take time out from shooting a military training film to hide Airwolf in a different location before it can be discovered, but Bogard catches on to their ruse and tracks Hawke back to the new hideaway. To complicate things, an eager pilot tails Dom and Hawke in an effort to convince Santini that she deserves a job working for his company.—R. Bernard Ment
- A rocket is sent up with a scene change to the control room where a man named Bogard is briefing some other men on the mission of the satellite that the rocket is taking up. Essentially, the satellite is going to scan the southwest with high-res photography in order to find Airwolf's hiding place. Archangel warns Hawke that Bogard is doing this as he is headed to Washington to answer inquiry of a Senate Committee.
Hawke and Santini are working with the military filming aerial sequences for a film. Using information that Archangel provided him, he hides Airwolf in an aircraft boneyard in one of the few gaps in the satellite scan. As Hawke and Santini continue to prepare for the next photography run, another pilot is aided after she hails a mayday trying to get to Santini in order to potentially gain employment.
After Hawke and Santini find a homing device inside the Santini Air Jet Ranger and notice a tailing chopper, they think that the woman they helped is actually part of the plot to locate Airwolf. Hawke talks with Dominic about the "coincidences" going on and how there is no such thing.
Back at Hawke's cabin, he receives a visit from Bogard who basically threatens Hawke to give up Airwolf. After Bogard departs, Hawke radios Dom to prepare for an early wake-up so that they can get to their photoshoot early. Dom goes in the Jet Ranger to pick up Toni Donatelli (Mayday pilot) to help with shooting the military footage. As they head out, Dom has buttoned up the biplane with Hawke in it so that he can head to the boneyard to pick up Airwolf.
Bogard, though, has a ground based radar that picks up the Jet Ranger and the biplane. Bogard and his posse move to intercept Airwolf and do a decent job of surprising Hawke. As Hawke contemplates what to do, he decides to set Airwolf down. But not without pointing his nose down the runway and then hitting the turbos. He zooms down enough runway to get under the intercept choppers and then lift off.
As Hawke heads to the bombing range where a flight of about 12 B-52's are about to unload a very large amount of ordnance for a video shoot, Bogard continues his pursuit. As his posse nears the range, they break off as the high altitude F-4's continue pursuit. As the bombers enter final run for bomb release, all aircraft break off. Dominic is on the ground trying to convince the Colonel in charge of the photoshoot to call off the bombers. MSgt Nash happens to be an employee of Bogards and overrides the Colonel's attempt to abort the bombers. Bogard lands on site where Nash and Santini are at to oversee the bomb drop as Hawke flies through it.
Bombs explode everywhere around Hawke as he continues his low-level flight through the range. By the time the last bomb goes off, Dom is convinced that Hawke is dead. Bogard claims that he will take full responsibility as the Colonel orders Nash and Bogard to be placed under arrest. Suddenly you hear "Briar Rabbit to Briar Fox." Hawke made it. Bogard is taken into custody as Archangel debriefs Hawke on the results of the Senate hearing.
In the end, Airwolf is still safe, Archangel is clear and Toni is offered a job with Santini Air and The FIRM.
