Very enjoyable

Warning: Spoilers
I was a little worried after the previous episode ("Crossings") that the "Lauren = double agent" story might feel a bit stale after the whole "Allison = Francie's double" plot that worked so well in season 2. "After Six" takes a step in the right direction by teaming her up with Sark (does this mean Allison is dead once and for all? What about her miraculous recoveries in the past?): Melissa George (who looks fantastic in her lingerie, by the way) and David Anders play well off each other - she demonstrates an almost Xenia Onatopp - ish pleasure in killing, and he actually admires her for that! These two make a twisted couple. I also liked the intercutting between the tension of the CIA mission and the comedy of Marshall and Carrie getting married in a rush minutes before she goes to the hospital to give birth to their baby....Marshall's facial expressions are very funny here. Sloane's scenes with the female CIA psychiatrist are strictly teasers (he talks about a secret, concerning him, Jack and Sydney, that has been a terrible burden on his life, without revealing what it is), but thanks to Ron Rifkin's superb acting, these scenes are far from a waste of time - in fact, they are among the strongest of this episode. Quentin Tarantino's brief appearance towards the end is the icing on the cake. *** out of 4.

Is there anybody Lauren won't betray?

Warning: Spoilers
No sooner have we learnt that Lauren is a Covenant operative working against the CIA than she is being recruited by Sark to help assassinate six leading members of the Covenant in order to strengthen their own position within the organisation. While this is going on Sydney is busy trying to infiltrate a Covenant safe house which holds information about the organisation's plans and structure.

To do this she and Vaughn must access the property through a tunnel which is protected by radar controlled miniguns, a high voltage electrical system and an acidic spray... all within five minutes or the guards will be alerted. To complicate matters while Marshall is talking them through the system his fiancée goes into labour and insists on getting married before going to the hospital.

As well as plenty of action including an impressive night time BASE jump from a cliff and the tunnel entry mentioned earlier there are some nice humorous moments, the best of which was Weiss becoming a priest in some weird on line church to marry Marshall and Carrie in one of the least romantic marriage ceremonies imaginable. This episode is also to be noted for a guest appearance from Quentin Tarantino as a senior member of the Covenant.
