Jack Weston classic comedy
vitoscotti2 November 2021
Joe Girgis (Jack Weston) matched with Archie, and scatterbrained judge Edith has some very funny scenes. Girgis crying easily is done multiple times, and works big-time. Archie's reaction to the crying always cracked me up. Archie gets in some good zingers about Joe's ethnicity. Another perfectly casted guest star who brilliantly works with the regulars to create magic. Edith should of known Archie was too stupid to do the laundry.

Not very funny

Although this was a fairly original story, in my opinion, I felt that it fell flat in regards to actual laughs. Archie accidentally breaks a washing machine at the local Laundromat, and it happens to be an expensive one that will cost $80.00 to fix. Jack Weston, also known as Jack Weinstein, plays the owner of the store, Joe Girgis, and he accuses Archie of loading too many clothes into the sensitive machine. Archie naturally disagrees, and both men finally agree to let Edith settle the dispute, since she's impartial, according to Girgis. It got a bit annoying when Girgis cries a few times, and I know it was supposed to be a funny sequence, but it didn't work for me. After hearing both men out, Edith makes a confession that she pushed their bathroom scale back 5 pounds so Archie wouldn't think he gained any weight, so this was the reason Archie added those extra pounds in the machine accidentally, so Girgis wins the case by default. The funniest lines had Archie telling ethnic jokes about Girgis, but that's about all the humor there was.
