I have a different take on the episode

Warning: Spoilers
I disagree with the description that says Archie thought that Bobbi Jo had made a pass at him. Archie never believed that. He was just embarassed that he got caught lusting after Bobbi Jo by Mike and Gloria so he decided to make Bobbi Jo the villain by saying she had made a pass at him. He even admitted after that he was mistaken about the supposed pass. I also disagree with another review that says Mike was lusting after Bobbi Jo. He was never openly gawking at her. He even told Gloria that yes he had noticed her but he could handle it where as Archie didn't know how to deal with it so he was acting like a teenager around her. Even going so far as to help Edith serve the dinner which Edith said he had never done before. I felt really sorry for Bobbi Jo and obviously Archie and Duke's friendship was going to be over once Bobbi Jo told him what Archie had done.

Bobbie Jo "Bigger than life."

Archie makes a total fool of himself. Seems totally out of control with his desires towards Bobbie Jo. Edith is oblivious to Archie's straying eye. An episode of exaggerations. Archie is made to be a buffoon every chance the writers get. Another brilliant bit of acting by Carroll O'Connor.

Only good part is when Edith throws her out of the house Warning: Spoilers
The wife of an old army buddy of Archie's stays over at the Bunker's home the night before her flight to Germany to meet her husband Duke. The Bunker's have never met this woman before since Bobbi Jo is Duke's second wife after his first wife passed, and Duke unbelievably never got around to telling this to Archie when sending his new wife over there to bunk! How can you forget to inform him of something important like that?!

So Bobbi Jo shows up and the Bunkers graciously welcome this stranger to stay in their home for the night. Bobbi Jo is a very flirtatious woman right from the get go.

It gets worse when she takes off her coat to reveal enormous breasts that are very much on display and literally falling out of her wide open sweater. It's a very inappropriate way to dress when being a guest in a family's home....especially to a family you've never even met before.

Bobbi Jo possesses absolutely no decorum at all. When she takes off her coat, Mike notices and stands there open mouthed....yet he looks at Archie accusingly instead. He's very much aware of how this woman is dressed, but makes Archie out to be the one ogling her and it's weird.

And twice Mike does this with his face, but it's Archie that's made out to be the one salivating at her open breasts when Mike is doing the very same thing. Bobbi Jo even has the gall to chastise Archie when she spots him ogling her chesty display by saying "You ain't gonna find it in there!" I always find it funny when women purposely dress sexually titillating and then chastise the man for looking at the goods. If you don't want men to look, then don't show them off.

The women are ridiculously written as being completely oblivious to Bobbi Jo's nearly naked chest. Both Mike and Archie notice, but Edith and Gloria are totally ignorant to it. And it's absurd because how much of her chest is out there, and almost laughable how inappropriate this woman is dressed.

She even waits till the women are out of the room to get up and do a short titillating dance for the men and is back in her seat by the time the women return. Why not do it in front of the women you sleaze?

It's obvious to anyone with a brain she's being purposely flirtatious towards the men and purposely tries to shock with her stories even when the women are present.

She tells how the Duke woke up one morning and said "Let's get married!" to a shocked table, with the clear implication that she had sex before marriage which was still kinda taboo back in those days.

Seeing the shocked faces at the table she back peddles all innocently saying "he called on the phone!"....Then why didn't you just say that you over the hill tart?! She didn't because she just wanted to get a reaction and then act all innocent afterwards. Women like this know exactly what they're doing, but try to act all innocent while doing it.

My favorite part of this episode is when Edith throws this tramp out of her home. It's a very dramatic and effective scene and kind of shocking to see Edith act this way...but at the same time, you're applauding Edith as well as the moment this sleazy ho is tossed out onto the street. Don't feel bad for her though....she'll have a nice cushiony landing if she hits the pavement face first.

As she's walking out the door with her suitcase, she has the absolute GALL to act like an innocent victim and tries make Archie feel guilty about it by saying she's gonna tell the Duke what happened.

Sorry lady, but you brought this all on yourself from the moment you walked in the door and deserve to be tossed out onto the street where you belong! This actress returns later on in the series playing a more likable character Mildred "Boom Boom" Turner who yet again plays off her chesty assets, but I like her a whole lot better than this Bobbi Jo trollop.

Whenever I get back around to this episode I endure the first 20 minutes anticipating the scene where she's tossed out and feel exhilarated when she gets her comeuppance. The 4 stars are for that scene and for Edith telling her to get lost.

Not one of the best episodes

The wife of Archie's Air Force buddy Duke is staying with the Bunkers for a night before she joins her husband in Germany.

It turns out that Duke's wife is not the one Archie knows,it seems the first wife had died and the new wife is a younger, sexy waitress named Bobbi Jo that Duke married. She is played by Gloria LeRoy, although she is supposed to be younger than Archie and Duke (she is, but only a couple of years) she looks just as old despite wearing a low cut top and a miniskirt. The point of the episode is that Archie mistakenly believes Bobbi Jo made a pass, though she acts flirty and kisses him on the lips twice, you can hardly blame him for thinking that. There is also a uncomfortable scene where Edith tells Bobbi Jo to leave her house,so it is not much fun to watch.
