Charlene Darling as Doris at the Piano?
richard.fuller122 May 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Goober finds a girl, turns out she is too smart for him.

So Andy has Helen, and Sam Jones (Ken Berry) has his own girl as well, but it isn't Millie (didnt Millie start as Howard's woman anyway?).

Sam has some blonde named Doris.

Well, to further confuse matters, Doris is played by Maggie Peterson, who had always been Charlene Darling.

Now this wouldn't have been so bad, but all we see of the newly christened Doris is her sitting at the piano, while everyone sings.

She could have still been Charlene for all we cared.

Next to the last episode of the wonderful show.

What a way to go.

Results Almost as Expected

Goober is always alone at parties and has had no luck with romance. He's also pretty coarse and clueless. He decides to try computer dating which is in its infancy. It so happens that one of the R & D people decides to date him to see if the questionnaire is accurate. The result is realistic but then the conclusion makes on wonder if anyone has any idea. But, it takes all kinds.

One of the better later episodes

I rather liked this episode. It has a good message about what really may count in a relationship.

Zero humor

Writer Bruce Howard's only TAGS episode. A total dud. George Lindsey was asked to provide all the comedy and he spun his wheels going nowhere. Ken Berry is shoehorned in because RFD is coming. Deadpan Edith (Nancy Malone) is pleasant looking but is miscast for a sitcom. The pre RFD TAGS episodes everyone abandoned their jobs to sit around and discuss the episode's theme problem. Ken Berry's overacting has quieted down. All the regular actors appear disinterested. They all look 10 years older like the studiio went without a makeup artist. Only interesting part was seeing Charlene Darling (Maggie Peterson) as Doris. I'd skip this one.
