Rob Corddry plays an actor who is pro-gun. His name, Moses Taylor, is a nod to Charlton Heston who was pro-gun. Heston played Moses in the Ten Commandments and he also played Taylor in Planet of the Apes.
When talking to Gob (Will Arnett), Lucille (Liza Minnelli) uses the line "You have no courage" as her mother did (Judy Garland) on The Wizard of Oz (1939).
At the country club, Gob (Will Arnett) reads Lucille 2 (Liza Minnelli) the appetizers in a deep voice. The actor who plays Gob, Will Arnett, used to do voice-over work for commercials.
In the exterior shot of the Bluth Company's model home, steam from George Sr.'s (Jeffrey Tambor) hot tub is rising into the air. On the hill in the background, an animal (such as a deer) is seen running to the top of the hill. This same animal also runs to the top of the hill in other shots of the model house in Season 2.
Moses Taylor (Rob Corddry) (TV's Frank Wrench) has a gun organisation called "Hands Off Our Guns", or H.O.O.G. This is a reference to the Pilot (2003) episode, where Lindsay (Portia de Rossi) held a charity fundraiser for H.O.O.P. (Hands Off Our Penises).
