Private Enterprise

Also known as Between the Sheets and Between the Loins. All because lead character Det Supt Tony Clark (Neil Pearson) tended to bed the ladies.

This series about investigating bent coppers was the paternal grandfather of Line of Duty. Both shows were made by the same production company for the BBC.

An exciting, gritty and thrilling opening episode sees Clark going for promotion and being asked to investigating his own police station.

Whether he likes it or not. Clark is now working for the Complaints Investigation Bureau (CIB.)

The first episode goes out to shake up the formula of the cop show. After all, the crooks now are coppers who have done deals with criminals. A bit of private enterprise to look the other way for money.

Pearson brings an arrogance, cheekiness and verve to the role.

Several guest stars have gone on to bigger things. Ciarán Hinds was Steppenwolf in Justice League. Ben Chaplin was in The Thin Red Line.
