Hilarious episode

Warning: Spoilers
This episode is a true classic. Jed buys Jethro a closed, ramshackle diner. After much work, The Happy Gizzard opens for business. Once open, anything that can go wrong or be screwed up does so easily. The '6th grade education' wizard is at his best in this one. Steppin' on the red hot grill, spinning stool seats that fly off into space ... A knockout stops to use the telephone. 'Duncan Hines,' as she refers to Pearl Bodine's son, can't even handle that small task. 'The Diner' episode is loaded with laughs. It's a must for the true Beverly Hillbillies fan. And it very likely would convert anyone who isn't a fan.

WELCOME TO THE HAPPY GIZZARD?

Jethro, who eats and eats and eats, decides on a food career and why not open a restaurant? Actually, it's not a bad idea, but with Mr. Drysdale in the mix, you know there's a hitch. This is outrageous and kooky Max Baer is the whole show. Max, long before playing Jethro, got a good start in tv, working at Warner Brothers and appearing in several top series, such as 77 SUNSET STRIP and HAWAIIN EYE, though more on the dramatic side. Here its insanity. Drysdale arranges for Jethro to run a condemned Beverly Hills diner for $35.00 a month! That alone is laugh out loud! Jethro actually fixes the place up, dons a gigantic chef's hat and starts cooking, with some help from ole Granny. Best thing is he has some attractive customers. Playboy model Venita Wolf (as Suzy) stops by and Joan Huntington portrays Lois. Huntington had a long career in tv, appearing in such shows as BURKES LAW and PERRY MASON. Last, but not least, Judy the chimp makes an appearance. She was a famous monkey in her own right, a regular on the DAKTARI jungle series, also FLIPPER and LOST IN SPACE. If you're a Jethro fan, especially, this is a must see. SEASON 6 1968 CBS dvd box set.
