Unlike its partner show, The Six Million Dollar Man (1974), which ended on a regular episode, this episode was specifically written to create a sense of closure to the series. This is a rare instance of a "series finale" before such episodes became common.
The original ending was written and filmed with Jaime Sommers escaping from the government agents who corner her at a park. The series finale was supposed to end with Jaime being "on the run" hence the title. It was decided this would be confusing when the series repeats were shown out of order. Lindsay Wagner came back and filmed a new last scene with Jaime agreeing to go on missions for the government only occasionally in order to have a more normal life.
Last show of the series it got canceled because of declining ratings and creative differences between the producers.
When Chris uses the snowmobile to chase Jaime he jumps on a 1974-75 Yamaha 292 which had a top speed of about 40 MPH.
