Marshal Scott brings in three men who he suspects held up a stage. He puts them all in jail, but one of them, Bill Steele, recognizes the black saddle on Clay's horse. He wants to talk to Clay, but before Clay and Marshal Scott can get back over there two outlaws try to beat Bill Steele up. Clay soon figures out the truth and sets out to prove it knowing that he could very well be killed for doing so!
There were a good cast of characters in this episode. Besides Peter Breck, we have Warren Oates and James Corburn. Anyone who's watched westerns on TV knows these two faces very well.
This was a very interesting story. I can't reveal too much about it and ruin the surprise, but let's say Bill Steele has an interesting reason for being there.
In the end, two men are killed and one injured and arrested. One is set free in more ways then one!
