Inspector Falcon-Price orders a crackdown on traffic offences and sends the Heelers out on patrol. He is adamant there be no excuses accepted and no favours done for mates. But the Inspector changes his tune when Senior Constable Ben Stewart pulls over Felicity Falcon-Price - his wife - for momentarily crossing the dividing line. A contrite Ben toys with the Inspector and his wife over whether or not he will issue Felicity with a ticket, while the Inspector pressures him into dropping the matter. Ben insists Felicity comes to the station to but her case forward. When the press eventually find out the Inspector's wife has been caught out, the pressure is on Falcon-Price. Meanwhile, a series of routine traffic stops lead to a puzzling discovery and a frustrating effort to gather evidence in what Ben is convinced is a homicide, but with no body and no clear evidence, proving foul play becomes difficult. Sgt Croydon has to deal with Compo's excuses when he runs into Tom's car. Josh is offered a job in Melbourne but Tess will not be joining him.
