This is another silly episode. I kinda want to compare this cousin that's visiting to the "Woman of Fire" that was visiting in an earlier episode from this season. I found it rude to be a houseguest of somebody and you're breaking their stuff. I find it just as rude to go to somebody's house and you've got pets tagging along for the ride. And the dogs in this episode did cause some ruckus at the Cartwrights. The main focus was all the barking they were doing that was keeping everybody awake. I thought of the stuff happening off screen. How many piles of poop and pee were the Cartwrights having to clean up? Hop Sing wasn't in sight.
I want to focus on the two positives for the episode. Let's start with the serious and then I'll go down to the silly section that made me laugh. There's times I'll say that it must be hard for the cast to do an episode that they don't think highly of. I'm not sure the cast's feelings about this episode so I'm not trying to put words into any of their mouths. I just want to focus on one of the guest stars for the episode: Sue Ann Langdon. She truly gave a wonderful performance and truly gave it her all. IF you want to watch this one, I'd probably say watch it for Sue Ann.
The second thing is the silly thing I wanted to point out. Remember how I said they had trouble sleeping because the dogs were making so much noise? So you got Michael Landon coming down the stairs in his night shirt but he's got his regular pants on underneath the night shirt. We're talking a night shirt, y'all. It's long enough to cover him up. It's not like he's sleeping in a basic t-shirt and he's coming down with parts of his underwear showing. I was truly wondering what that was all about and then I noticed Pernell was kinda doing the same thing. He had on a robe but he had on his typical black shirt and pants on underneath. Truly bizarre but it cracked me up. Wear one or the other, guys.
