A fun episode! The cheerleader was super cute!

But....one pet peeve of mine is unrealistic sports in tv shows. In this one, Greg takes a picture of the receiver's feet as he catches a pass and they all agree that the ref made a terrible call.

We see the left foot clearly touching the line. If that foot hit first then the call is correct.....OUT OF BOUNDS...NO CATCH!!!

Let's say the foot is in bounds; we still do not know if the receiver had full control. He could have bobbled the ball and drug his foot before securing the catch and went OUT OF BOUNDS!!! NO CATCH!!!

Wow! I have a lot of free time on my hands to worry about this while watching old Brady Bunch episodes on Pluto TV!

Football And Photography

Greg makes the football team and Carol is worried he will get hurt.

An OK episode for Greg, not one of the best. Greg ends up with a broken rib and Carol refuses to let him play. There is an amusing sub plot of Bobby trying to be photographer taking candid shots. Alice also tries to remember a cake recipe that keeps getting erased from the kitchen blackboard.

Another happy (and safe) Brady ending!

Unlike some Brady Bunch episodes, which can be a little boring with "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!", and other childhood crisis, this episode was really fun to watch. The scenario with the recipe and Bobby finding his inner papparazi, was adorable and relatable! Great lesson to be learned about contributing to a team, and how it's not only how we might not have imagined it, but it's sometimes better than what we wanted. Again, a happy and safe ending for Greg, considering everything that can go wrong playing highschool football. (Anybody watched the Pilot episode of Friday Night Lights?) Ouch! Yes, Greg, you will be much happier doing something different, yet still productive!🙂

THE FOOTBALL BLUES, AND ARE THEY EVER...

Alfred and Helen Levitt wrote this classic episode, behind many great sitcoms, such as the DONNA REED SHOW. It was dedicated to all us teen sports stars back in the day, or something like that!

Also a great character study, this time centering around Greg who is determined to wow everyone on the football field. It's also a way to meet and greet some of the cheerleaders, and everything is going great until there's an injury.

This is a major setback for Greg, who is really bummered out, now re-evaluating his athletic career ... all the while Bobby is working the camera, and taking some candid pictures at the game. Interesting stuff.

This is where is gets fun, as a random photo just happens to be the key in determining the outcome of an important football game. Don't y'all love it. Popular character actor Bart LaRue, who played many reporters and newsmen, portrays the coach, and a real fair guy, who sorts things out with Greg and Bobby.

This episode is actually not that far from the truth, as most high school games do not have the photographic coverage as college games, but the outcomes were nevertheless just as important.

A 10 star family episode all the way, with a side gag with Alice stuck in the kitchen at odds with a blackboard!

Nobody Covering Receiver?

One of the pictures Greg took of Linette had the receiver in the background catching the pass inbounds. There was nobody within 40 yards defending the receiver.
