The station wagon seen turning into the driveway in the establisher shot is clearly a different car than the one that stops in the driveway. The establisher is a 1969 Plymouth, and the one seen in the closeup is a '72 Plymouth. Also, the vehicle in the wide shot doesn't have the rear right fender damage of the one in the closeup. This damage is a key element in the plot.
In the scene in the courtroom at the board with the little cars, Mrs Brady placed the red one in a straight up position. When it was his turn, Mr Duggan put the red car in a slanted position. If you look at the board closely in the next close up shots, the red car keeps changing its position.
