When the stolen city police car is first shown, a second one is pursuing it, as was reported by the dispatcher. In subsequent scenes this second police car disappears and is not seen again.
Right before the black car hits the parked car and goes airborne, the ramp on the back of the parked car is visible. In the slow-motion clip of the black car in the air, this piece of equipment goes flying off the back of the parked car.
One can see the black helmet being worn by the stunt driver of the water truck when it goes up the incline.
The brown Pontiac sedan has damage to the driver's side front bumper and turn signal before it hits the ground.
At 46:06 as Melanie struggles to get out of the overturned car the roll bar is visible, which isn't standard equipment in normal sedans.
In the initial pursuit, the suspects in the stolen city police car are reported as "rolling code 3", or lights and siren. They are not using either. When Bear pulls out to pursue them, he also does not activate his overhead light bar, nor does Ponch use the red lights while pursuing on the motorcycle.
Right before Melanie tears her pants, a freeway sign for the Golden State Freeway is visible. Ponch tells Melanie that she can change her pants at his apartment, which is only a couple of miles away, but Ponch lives in Marina del Rey, which is no closer than 15 miles from the Golden State Freeway (US-101 and I-5).
One of Ponch's first instructions to Melanie is "On my right. Always in my right." At 13:42 she pulls alongside him on his left. He does not react immediately.
At 1:47 Officer Baricza pulls into traffic in pursuit. He neglects to use his left turn signal to safely and legally merge into the traffic flow.
