When Mac is attempting to recover data from the victim's scorched hard drive, he removes the platter and places it in another drive. He fails to clamp the platter down which would prevent it from spinning correctly and would fly off once it spins up. He also tries to recover the data using an Atomic Force Microscope. While this might work as a last resort, it could take months to read and recover the data. Since the inside of the drive is clean, the best chance of recovering data would be to swap out the electronics board and try to read the data.
The revolver in the car supposedly cooked off the only round in it. When they opened the cylinder, the round's primer was dented from a firing pin. If the firing pin dented the primer, the trigger was pulled causing it, not the fire.
When Stella does the sign of the cross, she does it backwards. Catholics use the right hand and start at the forehead, down to the chest, cross the heart (to the left shoulder), and then to the right shoulder. Stella, however, is Greek and therefore possibly Eastern Orthodox, and could therefore have been taught to do it right-to-left, as she does.
