Love never lets go
owlaurence24 July 2008
Warning: Spoilers
Yes, the opening credits made me squeal in joy... although in retrospect they also spoiled the surprise effect of seeing Cole again. It's good that the show recognizes the importance of Cole both to the viewers and to Phoebe. And by the way, I cannot but laugh at the fact that, ever true to himself, Cole STILL hasn't let go... and still loves Phoebe with all his soul. But there are a few jarring notes. First of all, it seems shocking to find him so smug and confident, as if he had never 1) committed crimes that left him racked with guilt 2) lost the love of his life AND death, and 3) gone completely mad with despair over 1) and 2). My second grievance is the plot itself. I can accept that Cole has sent Drake to help Phoebe, even though I think that as usual his "solution" is bound to backfire. But his explanation for helping Piper is really far-fetched, and it feels like he was inserted into the plot at the last minute, since everything he does could be done by someone else. But I am very, very glad that the show says its final farewell to him with Piper calling him "a good friend" -forgiving him, finally.

Okay, I have spent an awful lot of time on Cole... as usual... so I'll now be brief about the rest. I like the running joke of Piper being dead : "oh, not AGAIN!". Moreover, the test Leo has to undergo is a clever way of helping him "find his way" : even though Odin subtly cheats, you can easily see why Leo could unknowingly choose his vocation over his marriage. Still, it's nice to see him act as an individual, not as a Whitelighter or Piper's lover. Finally, his (amusnigly literal !) fall from grace is nicely done. The bridge has become the symbol of "Up there" over the years (and it's a much better setting than the fake heavens, if you want my opinion) so it's quite fitting that leaving it should be the symbol of Leo's "resignation".

Just for a final note, I am a bit disappointed that Phoebe accepts to lose Drake that easily. I will really miss that over-dramatic, hilarious and really kind demon, even though it was obvious that a huge guest-star such as Billy Zane couldn't stay long on the show.

The plot was fair. Not too confusing. It just seemed like it took too long to get to the point.

The episode was fair. Julian McMahon was fantastic. The last few episodes picked up when Billy Zane joined the cast. He is a wonderful actor. I saw him years ago in the Phantom (from the comic strip). He did a great job. I also saw him in Titanic in which he was a dominating heel. Then in the last few episodes of charmed in which he as delightful to watch. One thing I admired about Billy and Julian was the wonderful way they expressed themselves. Their English was flawless and perfectly understandable. I have gotten along in age and sometimes I have trouble understanding, but too often young actors skip over their consonents. I think it is me, but when I see old movies everybody is understandable - even teenagers. Julian and Billy had a wonderful last scene regardless of the plot. It was very good acting on their part. Don't get me wrong, I love the girls, but these guys seemed like real pros.

Confusing Episode
starfire0923 July 2008
Although I was really happy to see Julian again as Cole even though he had a rather Nip/Tuck image look about him, (lol) this episode was confusing. I found it perplexing at first, wondering why he would want to help Piper find Leo. He then admitted he wanted Phoebe to find love again. At the end of the show it appears that Cole was responsible for sending Drake into the Charmed Ones lives simply for Phoebe. But he appears at the Magic School. For a demon who was the source of all evil but is living in limbo now, I don't see how that is possible. Nor the fact that he has any powers at all enabling him to set the whole thing up regarding Drake. This episode was far fetched and had too many holes in it to make sense. I believe it was simply a gift to all the Cole fans out there that we could see him again. So for that I am grateful. Once again I cried my eyes out at the end. I so loved Julian on the show and felt that it went downhill after he left. I didn't want him to go in this last episode once again and it just seems so unfair that he would still have to live in limbo when he did a beautiful unselfish thing for Phoebe and for Piper.

Cole should stays in the show after this..

This is a great episode with Cole appearance, but unfortunately, it's only for this episode..

It shows that Cole hasn't really got 'vanish' after got vanquished on season five, Centennial Charmed. It has proved a lot of theories that was discussed on this character.

That Cole wasn't willing to be the Source, else he won't be talking to Piper in this episode, thus, Cole is not evil.

He happens to sent Drake for Phoebe, and he appears at the Magic school at the end, this shows that Cole isn't really in a Limbo..

An 'Easter egg' episode for Cole's fan.. :)

Warning: Spoilers
After all the Avatars/Brody mistake taken care of, and a bunch of guests, including Charisma Carpenter. Who's basically Cordelia Chase, returning in the Charmed universe, as The Seer. The show was completely losing it with its goofy characters, including a very chirpy Billy Zane. Who was fun, but also very awkward. One thing I can give them though, their chemistry with Alyssa Milano was through the roof. Only that's the thing with all those last seasons episodes. They can be good, but not as good as it used to be. The Seven Year Witch for example, has a great plot, that can go places. Only it chooses to go the safest and fastest way, to reach its « destination ». Bringing Julian McMahon back, was something I had lost hope for. But there again, it's tied up too neatly, with no room for ambiguities. Everything is so black or white. Even the sisters annoyed me, with their deluded way of saying how theirs, and Leo's lives should be. After he became a mortal, and is more vulnerable to their lifestyle now. They keep putting the blame on everyone else, and it's getting tiring. It was like writers forgot all the grey that used to make the storylines interesting. And told their stories without relief, and in a preachy manner. Like they do in family shows...
