"A New Girl in Town" introduced one last new character this season, both Della Reese and Charo now gone, and only six more episodes produced. Julie Hill plays aspiring starlet Monica, a teenage runaway from Detroit, offered a van to sleep in by Raul, seeking fame and fortune in the movies. She obviously displays talent, sharing soft shoe steps with Louie Wilson, but balks at the number of rules set down by an overprotective Ed, which was the main reason she left home in the first place. Believing that she brings trouble wherever she goes, Monica tries to leave on her own, but a false kidnapping report made by Raul puts poor Louie in handcuffs. The series was clearly floundering at this very late stage, though Julie Hill was cute and charming enough to brighten the garage for a spell.
