In the closing scene, Chico is exiting the van in a bathrobe with a rubber duck named Ramon, getting ready to use the tub for the first time. As he rolls the tires out of the way, he discovers that Ed has beat him to it and is enjoying a bubble bath. Then a first for the show happens: As the closing credits roll and the music begins, the scene cuts to the street scenes of people in East Los Angeles, as is typically done. But one more line can be heard from Ed, as a voiceover: "Well, don't just stand there! Scub my back!" This was followed by a roar of laughter from the audience. The next time we see this type of closing is The Accident (1976).
