The title refers to a dance that started in the swing era of the 1930s and 1940s in a scene in MGM's The Wizard of Oz (1939) (the wicked witch sent an insect (jitterbug) to Dorothy and her friends just before the flying monkeys attacked) but was left on the cutting room floor.
At the beginning of the episode "Clair's Reunion," it is revealed that Heathcliff Huxtable grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. However, in the episode "Jitterbug Break," Theo and Cliff remind Denise that Cliff slept outside Connie Mack Stadium for World Series tickets after Denise says Connie Frances Stadium.
